Paddy is a registered psychiatric nurse obtaining a 1st Class Honours Degree at Ulster University (2012).
He has over 14 years of experience working in the field of Health & Social Care. His passion lies in education within healthcare and is currently a Lecturer in Nursing at Ulster University for the past three years. He also worked as a part-time lecturer in Health & Social Care in North West Regional College for over two years. As a registered nurse, he has obtained a range of experiences working in various settings, including acute mental health, forensic psychiatry, intellectual disability, community care, psychiatry of old age, and dementia care. He was awarded the Dr. Dawson Memorial Award for my clinical excellence in nursing care in 2012. He was also awarded the Mona Grey Nursing Research award in 2012 for excellence in nursing research undertaken. He believes in continuously enhancing skills, knowledge, and professional practice, this is evident through completing a Post Graduate Cert in Education. He also completed a Graduate Diploma in Psychosocial Interventions in Mental Health Care at the University of Limerick and a Post Graduate Cert in Healthcare Management. In addition, he has a completed a Train the Trainer QQI Level 6 through the Open College (2019).
